📜 FaithSync Terms of Service

1.1 Agreement

By creating an account, accessing, or using FaithSync, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

1.2 Eligibility

You must be:

• At least 18 years old
• Legally able to enter into contracts
• Not prohibited from using our services by law
• Committed to using the service in good faith

2.1 Faith-Centric Community

2.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Use the service for illegal purposes
• Spam, solicit, or advertise
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Share explicit, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Violate others' intellectual property rights
• Attempt to hack or disrupt the service

2.3 Content Standards

All content you post must:

• Be accurate and truthful
• Respect others' dignity and privacy
• Comply with applicable laws
• Not contain hate speech or discrimination
• Be appropriate for a faith-based community

3.1 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account
• All activities under your account
• Keeping your information accurate and up-to-date
• Notifying us of unauthorized access

3.2 Profile Information

You agree that:

• Your profile information is accurate
• Photos are of yourself and appropriate
• You have the right to share all content
• We may verify your identity

3.3 Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these terms
• You engage in harmful behavior
• You provide false information
• You misuse the service

You may delete your account at any time through Settings.

4.1 Matching Service

FaithSync provides:

• Profile-based matching algorithm
• Discovery feed with potential matches
• Compatibility scoring based on preferences
• Location-based matching (with your permission)

We do not guarantee matches or relationships.

4.2 Messaging

Messaging features:

• Available between matched users
• Messages are private between participants
• We may monitor for safety and compliance
• You are responsible for your messages
• Report inappropriate messages to us

4.3 Premium Features

Premium subscriptions include:

• Unlimited likes and rewinds
• Advanced filters and preferences
• See who liked you
• Boost your profile visibility
• Additional features as described in-app

4.4 Third-Party Integrations

FaithSync may integrate with:

• Spotify (music preferences)
• Bible reading services
• Payment processors

Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies.

5.1 Subscription Terms

Premium subscriptions:

• Automatically renew unless cancelled
• Mobile: billed through Google Play or the Apple App Store
• Web (faithsync.org): billed through Braintree (PayPal’s payment platform)
• One-time credit purchases on web are charged once and do not auto-renew unless you buy a recurring plan
• Prices may change with notice
• Mobile: cancel anytime in your app store subscription settings
• Web: cancel recurring plans in FaithSync Settings → Manage Subscription before your next billing date
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then

5.2 Refunds

Refund policies:

• Mobile: subject to Google Play or Apple App Store refund policies
• Web: refund eligibility follows Braintree and card/network rules; we do not guarantee refunds for partial subscription periods
• Generally, no refunds for unused time after a subscription period has started
• Web: review charges and manage your plan in FaithSync Settings → Manage Subscription

5.3 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by:

• Google Play (Android)
• Apple App Store (iOS)
• Braintree (web checkout at faithsync.org)

We do not store your payment information.

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us:

• A license to use, display, and distribute your content
• The right to modify content for technical purposes
• The right to remove content that violates these terms

6.2 Our Content

FaithSync owns:

• The app, website, and software
• Our trademarks, logos, and branding
• Our matching algorithms and technology

You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

7.1 Service Availability

We provide the service "as is" and:

• Do not guarantee uninterrupted service
• May modify or discontinue features
• Are not responsible for third-party services
• May experience technical issues

7.2 No Warranties

We do not warrant:

• That you will find matches
• The accuracy of user profiles
• The success of relationships
• That the service will meet your expectations

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid
• We are not responsible for user conduct
• You use the service at your own risk

8.1 User Safety

Your safety is important:

• Meet in public places for first dates
• Tell friends or family about meetings
• Trust your instincts
• Report suspicious or harmful behavior
• Use our reporting features

8.2 Reporting

Report to us:

• Harassment or abuse
• Inappropriate content
• Fake profiles
• Safety concerns

We will investigate and take appropriate action.

8.3 Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content

FaithSync has ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content and abusive users:

• Every profile, photo, and conversation can be reported in the app (flag icon or the "Report or block" menu)
• You can block any user at any time — blocked users are immediately removed from your Discover feed, matches, and chats
• Our moderation team reviews all reports and acts within 24 hours, removing offending content and ejecting users who violate these terms
• Repeat or serious offenders are permanently banned

9.1 Modifications

We may update these terms to:

• Reflect changes in our services
• Comply with legal requirements
• Improve clarity

We will:

• Notify you of significant changes
• Update the "Last Updated" date
• Your continued use constitutes acceptance
